Concordia Publishing House has a resource entitled Know the Bible Now. After reviewing it on the Concordia Publishing House website, I have decided that this will be a good resource to help those that may not be as familiar with the bible, it's layout, and the stories of the bible as others. I will be starting a bible study with this book as our guide (along with the Lutheran Study Bible of course) after Easter at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday evenings at 7 PM. If you are interested in joining us or having one of these books as a resource for your own personal study of Scriptures please let Pastor know by contacting him here. I look forward to digging into God's Word with you all.
Have you ever struggled to have faith development become a habit? Have you struggled to pray? Have you struggled to read the Scriptures Daily? I am sure you can answer each of these questions with a yes. I know in my life there are times that even as a pastor I struggle with each of these. Prayer, reading the Scriptures daily, daily faith development. It happens, Satan even attacks me to try and take me away from God's Holy Word.
There's a tool that's been around for quite awhile and for the first time I just opened it up and what a gift this could to you who may or may not be struggling with your prayer and bible reading. This tool is Concordia Publishing House's Everyday Faith Calendar.
I am including the link and also the image of March's Calendar for you. May God continue to bless you through this Lenten Season as you focus on God's Holy Word in daily renewal.

Typically in the season of Lent, many will give up something for Lent, whether it be a specific food, or perhaps alcohol or caffeine. Others might give up the use of Social Media. One practice that I have started to do during the season of Lent is not give something up, but add something that will help my devotional life. For example, one year I prayed the Litany each day during Lent.
This year I will be using the following resource provided by Concordia Publishing House. You can download it free of charge, below.
It's looking at a portion of Scripture and also a hymn verse. I would encourage you to join with me in adding something to your Lenten season and if at all possible, keep the practice going throughout the year!
